六、課程概要：
根據教育部國語辭典，「街頭」的意思是街上，而含有街頭二字的詞語有街頭劇、街頭小報、街頭巷尾、街頭運動、十字街頭、流落街頭等。而街道的意思是，供人車通行的道路。本課程使用「街頭」這個詞即在於取其運動、抵抗的意涵，以有別於街道家具的「街道」。又之所以稱為「街頭藝術」(street art)而非「公共藝術」(public art)，是為了強調其平民（非藝術專業界）、低科技，甚至是無政府主義性格。
課程開始先閱讀/討論幾個可以用來研究分析街頭藝術的理論/概念，如青少年次文化、犯罪、男子氣概、文化防堵、排除地景、都市美學等，接著分別針對街頭藝術個案，包括塗鴉、紐約地下鐵塗鴉、文化防堵、反廣告、街頭看板解放、公共壁畫、收復街道等進行研討。修習這門課程需要閱讀、觀察、實習並重，亦即閱讀國內外文獻、實地進行本土公共空間觀察（或利用網路個案研究）、最後再以虛擬的方式進行一個街頭藝術行動。
